Duterte won’t take back decision on Marcos burial

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday said he would not reclaim his choice permitting the internment generally tyrant Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. 

"That part of the sins of Marcos have yet to be proven by a competent court," he explained. 

In a squeeze preparation before he cleared out for Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, the President said he would stick to what the law says.

"Sabi ko, 'It is your choice...' I will not take my word back," Duterte  told the dictator's son. 

Duterte likewise tended to the assessments of Martial Law casualties. He called attention to that Marcos has not been discovered blameworthy of any human rights infringement in any court. 

Duterte added that he had guaranteed to previous congressperson Bongbong Marcos amid his visit in Tacloban City on Tuesday that he could continue with the hero's internment.

“I can bring this up and say the legal battle is over, and is back to the political arena. Hence, he is the number one political figure in the country and the power actually belongs to him to decide to pursue or abandon the plan,” Pimentel said. 

Pimentel said he is set to meet with Duterte on Monday next week at the earliest.
“Puwede pang i-discuss ulit. It’s just like the climate change agreement,” he said, referring to the Paris climate deal, which Duterte himself said that he will sign despite earlier pronouncements that the intended not to.
